Player Placement 2013/2014

The Cutters Soccer Club will be hosting their annual Player Placements for travel teams on  June 11th & 12th, 2013 at Karst Farm Park for the 2013/2014 seasons. The yearly player placement process allows the club to review our teams and players and make any necessary adjustments so that each player is placed in the best team environment to foster maximum player development.  This is also the opportunity for new players to join the club and participate on the club’s travel teams.

Please check back in the future to sign up to attend and also for time and field assignments.

Cutters Senior Teams U15-U18

U15-U18 Cutters Soccer Club  - These age groups only play for the club during the spring season since the players most often compete for their high school teams in the fall.   Practices may begin as early as November at the conclusion of the high school season.  Some teams may even participate in a November tournament.  Typically, teams will train once per week from Nov to March at Bloomington United Soccer School or the Bloomington Sportsplex.  Outdoor practice will begin as soon as the weather permits (normally the week following the MCCSC spring break in March).  Practices are held 2-3 times per week during the spring and games are played on weekends.  The Cutters U15-U18 teams most often compete in the Indiana Soccer League, Midwest Regional League, or C.I.Y.S.L/G.I.R.L.S. league.  Many of the teams (U15-U18) will compete in the Indiana State or Challenge Cup tournament competitions.  In addition, all travel teams may compete in one to three tournaments during the spring season and attend college showcases when appropriate.  The individual coaches, based on their desire to seek appropriate competition for the individual team, select the tournament with guidance from the Director of Coaching.   Travel outside the state of Indiana is sometimes necessary and beneficial for the team’s development.

Team members are expected to give 100% commitment to fellow teammates and coaches.  Players are expected to attend all practices and games unless otherwise communicated to the coach well in advance.  This is necessary so that the impact on the team (e.g., playing with fewer players, being forced to forfeit, etc.) can be avoided and alternative solutions (i.e. club passing) can be explored.  Excessive absences may be reflected in reduced playing time or future team placement.  Cutters Soccer Club obviously understands absences due to family or school commitments or sickness.  If a player is not willing or able to make this commitment it is not recommended that he/she accept a roster invitation.

All High School age teams are unfortunately subject to the Indiana High School Athletic Association’s 6 player rule.  The rule states that no more than 6 players from the same high school soccer team can participate on a club soccer team.  Non compliance of the rule may prevent player(s) from being eligible to compete for their high school team.  Cutters Soccer Club follows this rule very closely so our players are not ineligible to compete for their high school soccer team.  This rule creates an obvious challenge for Bloomington with two primary high schools (North and South) accounting for the majority of the club’s players.  The Cutters Soccer Club is very receptive and encourages players from nearby communities to attend player placement and via for roster spots.
